Happy Holidays Everyone!
2022 has been a vast improvement over 2021 – just sayin’!
With the holidays upon us, I’m thankful that I’m still here, that I’m working, that my business survived, and that I’m now able to meet with many of you IN PERSON! Throughout the Pandemic, over time and with practice, our virtual communications became fluent, but I’m so glad to be back in the training rooms. The technology we used has been outstanding, but nothing compares with real human interaction.
Holiday events with family and friends are happening again too (with caution, but they are happening!) This makes me so happy; I LOVE singing Christmas carols!
The Resume Place, Inc. has thrived through the entire Pandemic, and 2023 looks like it will be EVEN BETTER!
- In 2022, The Resume Place presented five live Certified Federal Job Search Trainer(r) classes, each three days in length.
- In addition, we taught at least 12 live Federal resume writing classes. Some highlights were: Architect of the Capitol, Dirksen Building, Washington, DC; Sierra Army Depot, Herlong, CA; George Washington Parkway, National Park Service. It is gratifying and exciting to get back out there and speak directly with people in a training room environment!
- We presented countless virtual classes, both half-day, and full-day. We mastered virtual technology such as CHAT box, break-outs, curriculum development, and live searches. I was amazed at how effective it was.
I believe that we have learned so much from each other in the last two+ years about how to simply “keep it going”. You – Federal employees and managers – have been a true inspiration to me by showing me how you continue to do your jobs with any and all technological methods out there.
During this holiday season, I am grateful for all of you – NASA, FAA, USAF, DHS, DOD, EPA, NOAA military bases around the world, and far more – – for the stories you share about the projects you manage and the technology you have adapted to. You have shared amazing Pandemic survival stories, your methods, challenges, and results. The outcome has been that Federal agency missions are continuing and prospering.
Thank you, everyone, for telling me your stories and meeting the goals of your missions. I mean this sincerely. You teach me every day that through tenacity and hard work, we all can continue to “keep it going.”

Kathryn Troutman, Author, Instructor has taught 8 classes at the Dirksen Senate Office Building for the Architect of the Capitol. The custodian staff there will be applying for a promotion with the help of federal resume writing and behavior-based interview classes! Nov-Dec 2022.
