Why Attend? As part of our 8-part CFJST/CFCC Certification training program, you MUST attend one of the sessions listed below. The HR class will be divided into (2) 90-minute sessions with a 20 min break between the 2 sessions.
What can I expect to learn? The Hiring Authorities and Merit Principles by OPM are critical for understanding the vacancy announcements and the entire hiring process. You will increase your knowledge for coaching veterans and family members. Veterans Preference is the most important hiring program for veterans. Special Hiring Authorities are important for many federal applicants and can make a difference in hiring results.
This training is mandatory for all new certifications. We will record these if you cannot attend any dates. Homework from these live webinars: What are The Top Three Takeaways that are relatively new to you about Federal HR Lessons?
Webinar 1: Merit Principles by OPM
Includes a step-by-step instruction of how a USAJOBS vacancy announcement is created.
Webinar 2: Veterans Preference
This webinar covers how a federal human resources specialist will “adjudicate” veterans preference for veterans. This is a very important webinar for anyone who teaches or coaches veterans and service members.
Webinar 3: Unique Hiring Authorities
Charles will cover Schedule A – Hiring program for People with Disabilities: EO 13473 – Military Spouse Preference; 30% or More Disabled Veterans; VRA; Post-Secondary Hiring Authority for Students and Recent Graduates.
If you are unable to attend live, we can send you a recording of the program. It is better to attend live so you can actively participate in class discussions. This is very complex content and if you have questions, you can ask them during the class.
