Step 1. Review the Federal Job Process. Learn about the OPM Classification Standards, GS Schedule and the various types of federal positions.
Step 2. Networking. Why this important and why it WORKS.
Step 3. Find Vacancy Announcements on USAJOBS. Teach your jobseekers how to find job announcements that could work for them.
Step 4. Find Keywords for your Federal Resume. This is CRITICAL for a successful federal resume.
Step 5. What are your Core Competencies? Learn how to add important core competencies into the resume.
Step 6. Writing the Outline Format Federal Resume. This is TODAY’s popular federal resume – upload format. Teach your clients the best and newest format for USAJOBS.
Step 7. Questionnaires, KSAs and Cover Letters. The questionnaire is a TEST. Get ready to coach your clients.
Step 8. Apply for Federal Jobs. Yes, applying for the federal job is challenging – online. Learn about the importance of documents and applying correctly.
Step 9. Track and Follow-up on your Applications. YES, your clients can find out what happened with their applications so they can improve the resume and questionnaire! This is GREAT!
Step 10. Interview for a Federal Job. This is another TEST. Help your clients prepare for the Behavior-Based Interview.
TIMING:
This curriculum can be taught in 2, 4, 6 or 8 hour workshops. The PPTs are flexible AND… now we have friendly and fun one-minute videos to introduce each step.

The Ten Steps to a Federal Job® Certification Program is the ground-breaking training program that provides you with TWO industry-standard certifications: Certified Federal Job Search Trainer® (CFJST) and Certified Federal Career Coach® (CFCC). 1. You will be licensed to teach the very popular federal employment curriculum, Ten Steps to a Federal Job®. This curriculum can be taught in 90 minutes, 3 hours, 6 hours, a full day, or two days
2. You will be licensed to teach the new 60-minute MSP Spouse curriculum, The Stars are Lined Up for Military Spouses®.
3. The license to teach Ten Steps is a three-year renewal license and certification and would be good until Sept. 30, 2022.
