If you are currently in college or recently graduated – Bachelor’s or Master’s or JD or Ph.D. university… you will want to feature your education in your federal resume.
3 TOP TIPS:
EDUCATION ON TOP: For a Current Student or Recent Graduate you will need to add your EDUCATION section to the top of the resume. The USAJOBS builder puts Education at the end. Do not apply for a position with the Resume Builder form USAJOBS. Use an Upload federal resume format for featuring education on the resume.
WORK EXPERIENCE / INTERNSHIPS / VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE: These experiences can add up to experience to help you qualify. But these experiences need to be detailed as a “Work Experience Job Block” in order to get credit for this experience. Be sure to add month and year to month and year and HOURS PE WEEK to get credit.
WHAT ARE THE KEYWORDS? There are keywords in the vacancy announcement that you should try to add to your federal resume. You will find the words in these sections: Requirements, Qualifications, How you will be Evaluated, Questionnaire, Summary, Duties.
