Ten Steps Communications Director!
BIO: A seasoned communications professional, career adviser, and US Army military spouse Juli-anne Jensen is supporting the mission of The Resume Place, Inc and Ten Steps to a Federal Job by continuing outreach and engagement among the job seekers, professional organizations, and employers who benefit from the its proven career training.
Prior, Juli-anne served as the Associate Director, Arts, Nonprofit & Public Sector in the Princeton University Office of Career Services. Working with academic departments, university administration, students, and alumni, she crafted materials and workshops for career development in the arts, entertainment, political, and public sectors. In addition, she transformed the department’s programming and experiential education programs bridging the gap between academic work and practical career immersion through Princeton In Washington and ArtsWork where students engaged with high-profile alumni in Washington, DC and New York City at over 85 programs each summer.
For her position at Princeton University, Juli-anne was able to draw from her previous experience in politics, the public sector, and the entertainment industry. Utilizing her practical knowledge of these industries, experience as a hiring manager, and communications she transferred these skills to career development not only for the University but also for U.S. Army Reserve Soldiers and spouses as a Family Readiness Group leader in her husband’s and brother’s battalions.
During her time in politics, Juli-anne provided management, strategy, and communications for political campaigns in NY, NJ, PA, NH, FL, IL, OH, CA, OR and IN. During the 2006 election cycle she consulted on congressional campaigns for candidates who were military veterans and post-election, she worked on the legislative process that led to the passage of the Post 9/11 GI Bill. Prior, while working in the studio system for Miramax Films, Universal Pictures, and Fox Searchlight Pictures, she managed national strategy, awards, and publicity campaigns for over 100 Academy Award winning and box office blockbuster films. She also maintains her own business advising political leaders, corporate executives and artists through production development, communications, and campaign management.
A graduate of New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study, Juli-anne completed the Project Management Professional (PMP) course through the Institute for Veterans and Military Families. She also trained and performed improv, storytelling, and sketch at Second City, the Moth, and the Upright Citizens Brigade. Juli-anne is dedicated to supporting professionals of every stage in their careers to achieve their professional goals.

From Kathryn: I met Juli-anne through Grace Williamson, Career Center Director, Ashford University. Grace is a Ten Steps Trainer and I met her at the NCDA Conference in Houston, TX. We had dinner and I told her that I was going to hire a Communications person for Ten Steps to help manage communications of our 800+ active Ten Steps trainers worldwide. She referred me to Juli-anne! We met in my office in Catonsville, MD and I hired Her! Thanks Grace for the great referral! Networking works again!
